One of our Projects
This is a multi-faceted project that is growing as we go along. This includes a small home for Richard and Araceli, a carpenter shop, an auto shop, gardens, chickens, rabbits, worms and milk goats to help feed the hungry, give job training and create some local employment. Watch this site, the Photos and the Journal for updates and further info.
Chickens and Rabbits
Presently there are some metal cages with a couple of bucks, several breeding does and growing litters that are consumed as fast as they are old enough. (Sometimes even stolen before)
2 hen houses, one for the chickens, eggs and meat, one for the little ones to grow up big enough to defend themselves. A new chain link fence has been added around the chickens to give them more room.
Richard has made arrangements to have a feeding program at the local school. Most of the children come to school without food and this would give them at least one hot meal for the day.
There is so much hunger here, one could continue to expand and keep this project up full time. We need more pens and cages and there is a constant need for the animals' food.
Goats
The plan is to build a herd of registered milk goats for milk, cheese and meat. In addition to building the actual herd, we need money to build a good barn for shelter.
